Children’s Book Week Giveaway Blog Hop 2014
Happy Children’s Book Week!
This year, in celebration of CBW (May 12 – 18), I am participating in an exciting giveaway blog hop.
The fabulous team of Mother Daughter Book Reviews and Youth Literature Reviews have joined forces to host this event, during which over a HUNDRED bloggers (yes, you heard me) are providing you with the opportunity to win fabulous children/teen’s books, gift cards, cash, or other prizes by hopping around to the participating blogs/authors LINKED below in the Linky List (see end of post).
What better way to celebrate Children’s Book Week?
All you have to do is visit each of the participating sites and follow the rules to win.
My giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian residents.
And what am I giving away, you ask? Well, this is a nice big one! I’m giving away:
1) A set of the first three books in my middle grade fantasy series Faerie Tales from the White Forest
2) Copies of BOTH Now Write! Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror and the FutureDaze: An Anthology of YA Science Fiction
If you have a moment, leave a comment telling me about the last children’s book you read that you really loved. That gets you 2 entries into the giveaway right there!
I’m using RAFFLECOPTER this time around to make things easier, but it doesn’t work with WordPress except through a link. So CLICK HERE to get to the giveaway, which runs THROUGH SUNDAY, MAY 18 (EST).
Good luck and GET HOPPING!

I absolutely loved reading The Eighth Day by Dianne Salerni. It’s a cool MG sci-fi which is what I like to read and write 🙂
Oh, I don’t know that one. Thanks, Sherri. MG Sci Fi is harder to come by than MG fantasy. I’ll have to check that one out.
The Year Money Grew on Trees by Aaron Hawkins is about a boy who takes over an apple orchard. Gee, I wonder why Sam and I liked it so much?
I’m not familiar with that one, either! Thanks, Jennifer.
I just read The Dark Unwinding by by Sharon Cameron (MG historical/Victorian with a touch of steampunk flavour). It offered some fresh ideas and I really enjoyed it. I also just read an adorable picture book, A Visitor for Bear, by Bonny Becker. I had to bring it home from the school library to read to my nieces!
Another new one to me! It looks intriguing. I just added to my GoodReads list. Thanks!
The last children’s book I read and loved was Savvy by Ingrid Law.
That one’s on my list. I heard it was fun. Thanks for playing!
the Dr. Seuss ones
There’s no one quite like Dr. Seuss, is there? 🙂
I really love the Harry Potter series, but I’m also partial to my children’s book, Daniel the Draw-er. 🙂
The last children’s book that I read was Little Orchid’s Sea Monster Trouble. We loved this book! I read it aloud to my children that homeschool and we really enjoyed it!
I finished reading eh original Wizard of Oz and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Oooh! My father used to read all the Oz books to me, so there’s a special place in my heart for them. Some people don’t even realize that there are many Oz books. And I have at least 6 first editions. 🙂
I really, really enjoy reading the Harry Potter series! :))
So far I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t! Rowling has done so much for the popularity of Middle Grade fantasy.
Danika, I LOVE these covers! Glad I’m in the giveaway and thanks for offering 😀
Thanks! I wish I could say I had something to do with the covers, but I didn’t. Julie Fain does the art and Chris Fink-Jensen does the typography.
I *like* a lot of books, but the most recent children’s book I read and *really loved* was The Pinhoe Egg by Diana Wynne Jones. Such a fun, funny fantasy!
Love Diana Wynne Jones! such an imagination.
Then you lucked out with some talented artists 😀
I read “The Lump” by Robert Jeschonek. My son was giggling the whole time!
horton hears a who!
My favorite children’s book is Morris Goes To School, which I read in 1st grade. Of older kids books, I loved The Hunger Games series.
My middle son just finished reading Theodore Boone, Kid Lawyer and really enjoyed it.
I loved both A Snicker of Magic and The Junction of Sunshine and Lucky.
Great giveaway Danika! Thanks for joining us in the Giveaway Hop. Pinning and tweeting…
I really liked reading Stuart Little.
We LOVED the Mo Willems Pigeon books we just finished
