Literary Devices and Creative Language

Do you ever wonder why certain words and phrases sound so pleasant to the ears? It could be that the author or poet is consciously using literary devices and creative language, paying attention to things like rhythm, rhyme, or repetition. Perhaps the author is even making up words of their own!

A great tip when writing creatively is to READ the work OUT LOUD. This will give you a good idea as to whether your working is awkward or needs polishing or zazzing* up!


*I have no idea what this actually means, but it sounds good, doesn’t it? 🙂
