On Wounds

Posted on September 2, 2022 by Danika

The WOUND that shaped my character’s life sounds like…

The wound that shaped Brigitta’s life sounds like a whine, self pity, thinking she has to save the world on her own and why would she think this? What is the wound for a faerie who has it all? The wound was in the womb. She didn’t even realize it. Subconscious (as all wounds are), the responsibility she was given. The loneliness and sadness as well, inherited from Ondelle. Perhaps this inherited loneliness is what makes her feel like she’s on her own, when in fact she has so many friends and allies. Also, the guilt she feels for “getting others” in on the plan. The harm she might cause. She doesn’t want to be responsible for that. There’s a part of her that won’t let others in for fear they’ll see her for what she thinks she is, someone undeserving, distracted, selfish.
